A masked man armed with a handgun robbed a bank in Imperial Beach on Thursday afternoon.
The thief confronted a teller at the Chase Bank branch office in the 1100 block of Palm Avenue and demanded cash about 3 p.m., according to San Diego Sheriff‘s officials.
After the clerk handed over an undisclosed amount of money, the robber left the building and fled in a vehicle of unknown make and model, Lt. Juan Marquez said.
The bandit was described as a roughly 5-foot 8-inch, 140-pound black man wearing jeans, a red or orange sweatshirt and a ski mask pulled down over his face. He remained at large in the early evening, Marquez said.
