Police Monday were searching for two men suspected of robbing a pizzeria at gunpoint in the Rancho Bernardo area.
It happened shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday at the Little Caesars on Bernardo Center Drive, just east of Interstate 15, San Diego Police Officer John Buttle said.
One of the thieves walked up to the counter, pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded cash while the other stood by a table, Buttle said.
The clerk complied and the suspects fled eastbound on foot on Bernardo Center Drive toward Bernardo Heights Parkway with an undisclosed amount of cash as well as the clerk’s cell phone, Buttle said.
No detailed descriptions of the suspects were immediately available.
