Border Patrol agents working along the border near Dulzura in East County have arrested a man with an active Interpol warrant.

The 36-year-old Guatemalan National arrested Saturday night is wanted in Finland for alleged sexual abuse of a child and rape.

The man was arrested after agents noticed footprints and discovered five men walking north. The men began running, but were apprehended approximately three miles north of the border.

The five were transported to a nearby Border Patrol station for processing. At the station, record checks revealed the warrant from Interpol, the organization that facilitates international police cooperation. .

The man is being held pending possible extradition to Finland.
