Two separate motorcycle crashes in Bay Terraces injured three people Sunday afternoon, officials said.
The first crash happened around 12:10 p.m. A 29-year-old biker was heading southbound on South Woodman Street when a 51-year-old man in a Honda CR- V attempted a left turn off of Doriana Street in front of the oncoming biker, causing the crash, San Diego police said.
The motorcyclist was ejected and suffered a fractured pelvis and lower right arm fracture.
About two hours later, just after 2 p.m., another crash took place involving a biker and a car near the intersection of South Woodman Street and Alta View Drive — less than a mile south of the earlier collision.
San Diego Fire Battalion Chief Rick Ballard said two people had to be taken to a hospital as a result of the second crash, but neither was believed to have any serious or life-threatening injuries.
