A man robbed a Subway store in Kearny Mesa, then took off before police could arrive, an officer said Sunday
It happened around 11:30 a.m. at the Subway on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard near Mercury Street, San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros said.
The man entered the store, “simulated having a gun” and demanded money from the clerk, according to Delimitros. He was last seen heading east away from the store on foot.
The suspect was described as a man in his 30s with a goatee, about 5-feet-6-inches tall, wearing a hat, an orange construction vest and a blue shirt.
Robbery detectives were investigating the crime.
