A female pedestrian walking outside a crosswalk was struck and injured in the San Ysidro area, authorities reported Friday.
The crash was reported at 6:47 p.m. Thursday in the 4300 block of Camino De La Plaza, San Diego Police Officer Robert Heims said.
“A 21-year-old male was driving his 2013 VW Jetta westbound…in the No. 2 lane. The vehicle struck the pedestrian,” Heims said.
The woman was taken to a hospital with serious, life-threatening head injuries, he said.
The crash remained under investigation, Heims said.
