A 71-year-old woman was killed Saturday when the car in which she was a passenger was broadsided in a Rancho Bernardo intersection.
The crash was reported about 2 p.m. in the 12000 block of Rancho Bernardo Road, San Diego Police Officer Robert Heims said.
A 17-year-old boy was driving a 2005 Jeep with a 17-year-old girl passenger eastbound and a 72-year-old man was driving a 2006 Toyota Avalon with the 71-year-old woman when the Toyota driver disregarded a red arrow and turned in front of the Jeep, which had a green light, Heims said.
The Jeep broadsided the Toyota on the passenger side, he said. The passenger died from her injuries at a hospital.
The other people involved complained of pain.
