Authorities Tuesday were investigating a stabbing that left a 35-year-old man with non-life-threatening injuries in Lakeside.

A caller told dispatchers around 10 p.m. Monday that a man with stab wounds had walked up to the caller’s residence in the 9700 block of Riverview Avenue and asked for help, San Diego County sheriff’s Lt. Michael McNeill said.

Deputies responded to the area and found a 35-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds to his arm and chest, McNeill said.

The circumstances leading up to the stabbing were under investigation.

The man was transported to a hospital for treatment of the injuries, which were not believed to be life-threatening, McNeill said.

No suspect descriptions were immediately available.
