Authorities Wednesday released the name of a 32-year-old motorcyclist killed in a crash near Old Town San Diego.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the biker crashed after trying to pass cars on the Old Town Avenue off-ramp from southbound Interstate 5 just before 3:40 p.m. Sunday.
Thomas Clark was traveling at a high rate of speed when he crossed several lanes toward the Old Town Avenue exit, struck the curb, collided with a guard rail and was ejected from his motorcycle, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Witnesses called 911 and firefighters attempted life-saving measures, but Clark died at the scene.
His place of residence was unknown.
