The San Diego Police Department Traffic Unit will be conducting a DUI/driver’s license checkpoint this weekend at an undisclosed location within city limits, the department announced Friday.
The checkpoint is scheduled to begin Saturday at 11 p.m. and last through 3 a.m. Sunday.
Officers will be looking for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment and checking drivers’ licenses, according to the department.
Impaired drivers can expect to be arrested, jailed and fined.
Funding for the SDPD checkpoint is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
