A man suspected of attempting to lure a 10-year-old boy in Vista is being sought by sheriff’s investigators.

The child was waiting for a ride home from his mother in the 200 block of Huff Street around 3 p.m. April 11 when the man walked up to him and said the boy’s father asked him to pick him up, according to Sgt. Matthew Mays.

The child didn’t believe the man and walked away, and there was no further contact, Mays said.

The man was described as white, between 30 and 40 years old, with a short black “zero fade” haircut and a comb over. He wore a dark blue checkered short-sleeve shirt, dark shorts and black socks.

Anyone with information should contact the sheriff’s Vista station at (760) 940-4551.
