A 21-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries Wednesday in a collision on a Rolando-area street.
The crash occurred shortly before 3:30 p.m. when an 88-year-old woman driving a 2014 Ford Fiesta braked to a stop for unknown reasons while making a left turn from eastbound El Cajon Boulevard onto 73rd Street, according to San Diego police.
Moments later, a westbound 2017 Chevrolet Cruze clipped the front of the woman’s stationary car, spun out of control, veered off the street and crashed into the back of a city bus, Officer Robert Heims said.
Medics took the Chevrolet’s driver to a hospital for treatment of severe head trauma.
No other injuries were reported.
