A man received serious injuries to his spine in a motorcycle crash in Kearny Mesa Saturday.
The 22-year-old victim lost control of his Yamaha YZ motorcycle while riding in the 5400 block of Kearny Villa Road around 12:30 p.m., according to San Diego Police Sgt. Robert Hawkins. The biker crashed into a guardrail, was ejected and slid underneath a parked car.
The man — whose name was not released — was taken to a local hospital and was being treated for two broken vertebrae, Hawkins said. He was expected to survive.
Police do not suspect drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
