A couple in their 30s were assaulted and bound Wednesday evening during a home invasion at their Mission Valley apartment by two men they know.
The home invasion was reported at 8:30 p.m. at 2571 Old Quarry Road, said San Diego Police Sgt. Michael Tansey.
A 33-year-old man and his 30-year-old girlfriend were in their apartment when they heard a knock on the door. The man answered the door and saw two men he knew, Tansey said.
The suspects rushed into the apartment when one of them forced the female victim into a bedroom while the other fought with the male victim, Tansey said. The woman was struck with in the face with a crowbar and then with a silver handgun before being bound, Tansey said.
The suspects restrained and bound the male victim before ransacking the apartment and stealing numerous items from the residence, according to Tansey. The suspects, who are known to the victims, fled in an unknown direction.
The victims sustained minor injuries in the robbery, Tansey said.
One of the suspects is described as white, 30 years old, 6 feet 2 inches tall and 175 pounds. He was wearing a white long sleeve shirt, Tansey said.
The other suspect was described as black, 19 or 20 years old, 6 feet 5 inches tall and 230 pounds. He was wearing a white shirt, red pants and gray athletic shoes.
