A police chase in National City ended Wednesday night with a crash into a car driven by a mother with a young child on board, according to an official.
The incident began shortly after 5 p.m. when a San Diego police unit attempted to pull over the suspect vehicle for a traffic violation at Logan and Euclid avenues, according to Sgt. Allan Butchart.
The driver refused to stop and instead sped off, Butchart said.
After a short police pursuit that lasted approximately one mile, the suspect crashed his vehicle into the back of a car driven by a woman who had her young child with her, the sergeant continued.
Three people inside the suspect vehicle jumped out and attempted to flee the crash scene at Euclid and E. Plaza Blvd., but officers were able to capture them all, Butchart said.
There were no reported injuries.
