A bandit armed with a rifle held up a 24-hour adult book store in San Diego’s Mission Hills neighborhood Thursday morning, making off with cash and pornographic magazines, police said.

The heist occurred a little after 5:30 a.m. when the gunman walked into Adult Depot in the 4000 block of Pacific Highway and demanded money, according to San Diego police Sgt. Robert Hawkins. He made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and a stack of porno magazines.

The bandit was described as a roughly 25-year-old, 6-foot-tall bearded Hispanic man with a medium build. He wore a maroon and gray flannel shirt and a baseball cap of unknown color. No description of the rifle was immediately available.

Witnesses told police the gunman got into a dark sedan of unknown make and model, though there was still a question of whether he got into the passenger seat of the car with a getaway driver, or if he drove the car away. He was last seen headed northbound on Pacific Highway

Robbery detectives were sent to investigate the heist, Hawkins said.
