A 31-year-old man suffered serious injuries when he was hit by a car while walking in the Loma Portal area, authorities reported Saturday.
The crash occurred at 9:48 p.m. Friday in the 2700 block of Chatsworth Boulevard, said San Diego Police Officer Robert Heims.
The victim is the fourth pedestrian seriously injured in San Diego since Wednesday evening. Pedestrians were struck in Clairemont on Thursday, and in La Jolla and City Heights on Wednesday.
The latest victim walked out in front of a Ford Focus driven by a 27-year-old driver when the car was westbound on Chatsworth Boulevard, Heims said.
The pedestrian sustained serious head injuries, Heims said. The man was taken to a hospital, but his condition was not immediately reported.
The driver of the car remained at the scene and was cooperating with investigators.
