A bicyclist was taken to a hospital when he failed to yield to an oncoming car in City Heights Sunday.
An 18-year-old man on a bicycle was heading south in an alley in the 4300 block of Altadena Avenue near its intersection with Trojan Avenue at about 12:40 p.m, according to San Diego police Sgt. Thomas Sullivan. The cyclist did not check for cross traffic as he began to cross Trojan Avenue, and was struck by a 65-year-old driver heading west.
The bicyclist’s left leg was broken in the crash, and he was taken to Mercy Hospital for treatment, Sullivan said.
Police did not release the name of neither the bicyclist nor the driver.
