A 3.5-magnitude earthquake struck on Friday night about four miles east-southeast of Ocotillo Wells in eastern San Diego County.
The U.S. Geological Survey reported that the temblor hit at 10:26 p.m. at a depth of 6 miles.
The earthquake was felt as far away as Escondido and in parts of San Diego, but there were no immediate reports of damage in the tiny desert community near the Salton Sea.
