San Diego Harbor Police rescued a family of seven Saturday after their 30-foot boat hit a sandbar off Gunpowder Point and became marooned.

A woman suffered a head injury and three other members of the family reported minor injuries from the accident, which occurred at approximately 3 p.m. in the South Bay.

Harbor police accompanied by National City Fire Department paramedics treated the victims, who were transported to a police boat via paddleboard and taken to a local hospital.

Officials said they hope to tow the boat off of the sandbar during an upcoming high tide.
