A 52-year-old man was stabbed in the back by a male suspect in the Egger Highlands neighborhood, police said Sunday.

The suspect — a Hispanic man in his 20s — stabbed the victim in the back once during an argument at 8:40 p.m. Saturday on the 1900 block of Palm Avenue, said Officer Robert Heims with the San Diego Police Department.

The victim was transported to a hospital, but his injury is not life- threatening, Heims said.

The suspect fled on foot and headed southbound across Palm Avenue, according to Heims.

He is 6 feet tall and “muscular,” Heims said. He was wearing a dark shirt, dark baggie shorts, white shoes and a black beanie.

Anyone with information about the stabbing should call (888) 580-8477.
