A man was robbed by three suspects in the Colinas Del Sol neighborhood and then stabbed when he chased down the thieves in an attempt to retrieve his stolen speaker, police said Wednesday.
The incident occurred about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday while the victim was sitting and listening to music at the corner of Trojan and Estrella avenues in a residential neighborhood a block south of El Cajon Boulevard, San Diego Police Officer John Buttle said. Three suspects approached the man and robbed him of a Bluetooth speaker.
“The victim tried to get his speaker back and was stabbed,” Buttle said. “The victim chased after the suspects (to Trojan Avenue and 48th Street) but lost sight of them.”
Police did not release any details or descriptions of the suspects, but detectives were assigned to investigate. The victim was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening.
