A masked gunman wearing surgical gloves held up a Kearny Mesa sandwich shop, police said Wednesday.
The armed robbery was reported just after 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Subway restaurant in the 7700 block of Balboa Avenue, San Diego Police Officer Tony Martinez said. The man entered the eatery wielding a handgun, made demands of the employees and left with an undisclosed amount of money.
A bandana obscured the suspect’s face so police could not determine his race or relative age, Martinez said. He was described as wearing a dark green hoodie, black pants and shoes and purple surgical gloves.
Robbery detectives were sent to the restaurant to investigate the heist.
