A woman driving a commercial delivery truck in Kearny Mesa struck and killed a male laying in the roadway, police are reporting.
The incident was reported shortly after 2:30 a.m. Monday in the 8700 block of Lightwave Ave. near Kearny Villa Road, according to Officer Dino Delimitros of the San Diego Police Department.
The 29-year-old driver saw the male in the road and tried to avoid hitting him but was unsuccessful, Delimitros said.
He was pronounced dead upon arrival at a nearby hospital.
The SDPD Traffic Division is investigating the crash.
