A murder-suicide investigation is underway after an elderly couple was found dead Sunday inside a mobile home in Otay Mesa, a police lieutenant said.
The man and woman, who were found dead around 10:30 a.m. inside the residence located in the Ocean Bluffs Mobile Home Estates, were married and owned the home, San Diego Police Department Lt. Mike Holden confirmed.
The park is located in the 3300 block of Del Sol Blvd.
“Neighbors and friends were concerned because they knocked on their door, no answer, no response to phone calls, and it’s very unlike them,” Holden said.
When police arrived on scene, they had to force entry through a locked door and discovered the bodies, the lieutenant continued.
The 82-year-old man and 83-year-old woman were both found with gunshot wounds.
“Preliminarily, this is a possible murder-suicide,” Holden said.
The identities of the deceased were not released pending notification of next-of-kin.
