A 2.8-magnitude earthquake rattled the Borrego Springs area of east San Diego County early Friday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
The temblor struck at 12:56 Friday morning five miles northeast of the resort community in the Anza-Borrego Desert. No injuries or damage were reported.
The small quake, which struck six miles deep, was felt as far away as Spring Valley in San Diego County and Dana Point in Orange County.
