A senior citizen was killed Thursday in a three-vehicle collision at a South Bay intersection.
The woman was headed north on Fourth Avenue in Chula Vista shortly after 9 a.m. when an eastbound vehicle struck her car at Orange Avenue, sending it crashing into a vehicle stopped in a turn lane, according to police.
Medics took her to Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego, where she was pronounced dead. Her name was withheld pending family notification.
It was not immediately clear who was at fault for the accident, which caused no other reported injuries.
