A 20-year-old man suffered cuts, scrapes and a broken collarbone Thursday when a car rolled through a red light at a Chollas View intersection and struck him, authorities reported.
The accident at Market and 45th streets occurred about 7:15 a.m., according to San Diego police. A school bus driver who witnessed it reported that the pedestrian had the right of way when the vehicle hit him.
Emergency personnel found the victim bleeding from head and face injuries. He was treated at a hospital for lacerations and a fractured collarbone, SDPD public-information Officer Joshua Hodge said.
Investigators confirmed that the involved motorist — whose name was not released — ran a stoplight at the road crossing, Hodge said.
