Authorities Monday released a composite sketch of a man wanted for questioning in connection with a stabbing attack that wounded three teenagers, one fatally, over the weekend in a neighborhood near Oceanside Harbor.
The assault on the trio — two 17-year-old boys and an 18-year-old man — was reported shortly before 1:30 a.m. Saturday in the 400 block of San Luis Rey Drive, according to the Oceanside Police Department.
One of the two younger teens succumbed to his wounds early Sunday morning at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, OPD spokesman Tom Bussey said. The other two were treated for minor injuries.
Officials have withheld the victims’ names so as not to risk compromising the ongoing investigation.
The so-called “person of interest” being sought by detectives is described as a roughly 5-foot-11-inch, 160-pound white man in his mid-20s, with curly dark-blond hair. At the time of the assaults, he was wearing brown cargo shorts and a gray T-shirt.
Police declined to reveal the nature of the unidentified man’s suspected involvement in the case.
Anyone with information about the assaults was asked to call (760) 435- 4730. Tipsters may remain anonymous.
