Warm, dry Santa Ana winds are expected to return this weekend, but San Diego will be spared the worst fire danger.
The National Weather Service office in San Diego said the strongest winds will be along the Santa Ana Mountains and foothills in Orange County and through the Inland Empire.
“It won’t be quite as windy in San Diego County mountains and foothills, but the fire weather threat will still be high in that area too,” according to the weather service.
Highs in Escondido, Poway and other inland areas will be 86 to 91 on Saturday and 92 to 97 on Sunday. East winds will average 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph throughout the weekend.
It will cooler on the coast, with highs only reaching the upper 70s to low 80s.
