Six people have been arrested, including one registered sex offender, on suspicion of dealing marijuana in Santee, San Diego County Sheriff’s deputies said Friday.
A six-month investigation, which was launched when deputies noticed an increase in carjackings, shootings and robberies in the city, led them to believe the crimes were associated with the sale of marijuana within city limits, which is prohibited.
The probe found that marijuana could be ordered online, which led deputies to pose as buyers and place orders. They would then arrest the delivery drivers. Throughout the investigation, deputies seized nearly 13 pounds of pot.
