The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a pickup truck allegedly involved in a serious hit-and-run accident in Encinitas.

A 33-year-old woman was crossing Encinitas Boulevard near Vulcan Avenue at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 22 when she was struck by a pickup traveling west. Witnesses told deputies the driver stopped, got out of his vehicle and told bystanders the victim appeared to be OK, before getting back into his vehicle and fleeing.

The victim was taken to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla with serious head, spine, pelvic and limb injuries, deputies said.

The vehicle which authorities are searching for is a white 2016 Ford F-150 Platinum Edition pickup truck with a California license 83524A2, said Deputy Christopher Murray.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the truck was asked to call the sheriff’s department at (858) 565-5200 or Crime Stoppers at (888) 580- 8477. All tips can be made anonymously.
