A man who slashed a fellow transient in the neck with a razor blade during an argument over ownership of a dog in Nestor was sentenced Wednesday to four years in state prison.
Ivory Franklin Daniels, 35, previously pleaded guilty to assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury in connection with the June 30 altercation in Berry Park.
San Diego police said the slashing occurred just after one of the men denied stealing the canine.
The victim got someone at a nearby house to call 911. He was treated at a hospital for a laceration, and Daniels was located in the park and arrested, according to police.
