The case against an off-duty Arizona police accused of committing a sexual assault in the Kensington area of San Diego remains under review, the District Attorney’s Office said Monday.
Jared Elkins, 33, was taken into custody in the 4700 block of Marlborough Drive about 4:30 a.m. on Sept. 15, according to San Diego police. Elkins was booked into county jail on suspicion of sexual assault and released on bail.
Authorities have released no details about the alleged crime, citing an ongoing investigation.
Elkins has been with the Yuma Police Department for seven years and was placed on paid administrative leave pending resolution of the case, according to azcentral.com, an Arizona news website.
