Lanes of Interstate 8 in Alpine were closed Sunday due to a small brush fire.
Four trees on the side of eastbound Interstate 8 near Tavern Road were reported to be on fire at 2:37 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Responding officers shut down the right two lanes of the freeway as crews battled the blaze, and traffic backed up in the area as a result of the closure.
All lanes were re-opened by 3 p.m.
