A 63-year-old woman was seriously injured Saturday when she was struck by a red SUV in Chollas View that then fled the scene.

The hit-and-run was reported at 1:30 a.m. in the 400 block of 47th Street, according to San Diego Police Officer Robert Heims.

The woman was walking west across 47th Street outside of a crosswalk when the southbound SUV struck her and left the scene, Heims said.
