A 25-year-old man was struck by a mini van while crossing a road Friday evening in El Cerrito.

The crash was reported at 8:09 p.m. in the 5400 block of University Avenue, according to San Diego Police Officer Robert Heims.

The man was in an eastbound lane when he was struck by a 2014 mini van traveling the same lane as him, Heims said.

The man suffered a fracture to his arm and was taken to a hospital for his injury, which was deemed not to be life-threatening, Heims said.

The 48-year-old driver of the van remained at the scene of the crash. Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors in the crash.
