Police Saturday were searching for a man who was believed to be brandishing a knife in a Clairemont Mesa shopping center.
Police received a call about a possible shoplifter from security at a Party City store in the 4200 block of Genesee Avenue at 1:22 p.m., Officer Frank Cali of the San Diego Police Department said.
When security attempted to confront the man, he allegedly pulled out a kitchen knife before fleeing.
Officers were looking for the man, but he had not been apprehended as of 2:15 p.m.
