A bicyclist suffered cuts, bruises and broken bones Friday in a collision with an SUV in University City, authorities reported.
The crash occurred about 9:15 a.m., when the 20-year-old rider made an unsafe left turn in front of a 2005 Lincoln Aviator in the 8900 block of University Center Lane, according to San Diego Police.
The victim, who was bleeding heavily when emergency personnel arrived, was taken to a hospital for treatment of various injuries, including a broken left leg and fractured pelvis.
