A 26-year-old man was thrown from his motorcycle and seriously injured Tuesday night when another vehicle attempted to turn in front of him in the Mountain View area.
The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital with major injuries but expected to survive following the crash just before 10 p.m. Tuesday in the 4400 block of Imperial Avenue in front of the Imperial Marketplace, San Diego Police Sgt. Ed Zwibel said.
A 2011 Cadillac driven by a 36-year-old man was suspected of causing the crash when the driver attempted to turn left onto Marketplace Drive from the westbound lanes of Imperial Avenue, Zwibel said. But the turn put the Cadillac in the path of the oncoming 2011 Suzuki motorcycle.
The motorcycle struck the passenger side of the Cadillac, throwing off the rider, Zwibel said. The Cadillac’s driver and passenger were uninjured, and alcohol or drugs were not suspected factors in the crash.
