A San Diego County probation officer was killed in a crash Sunday evening near Jamul, according to reports.
The solo-vehicle rollover crash was reported at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Skyline Truck Trail, just east of Lawson Valley Road. Early reports from the scene indicate the male officer was heading home from the Barrett Honor Camp when he lost control of his SUV for unknown reasons.
The CHP, CalFire and San Diego County sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene.
After being extricated from the wreckage, the officer was rushed to Sharp Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to reports.
