A pickup trunk driven by an apparently intoxicated man caused a chain of crashes Friday afternoon that left a pedestrian injured in Hillcrest.

The pickup rain a red light on University Avenue at 10th Avenue and hit two SUVs. The driver of one of the vehicles hit lost control and struck a pedestrian.

After the truck came to a stop, the driver fled the scene on foot.

San Diego police are investigating the accident and searching for the driver who fled.
