A house fire in a Mountain View-area neighborhood displaced two residents Thursday, but nobody was hurt.

The blaze in the 200 block of South 36th Street erupted about 2:15 p.m., according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.

The person who reported the blaze told firefighters it erupted when a lamp fell over, SDFRD Capt. Shannon Mueller said.

Crews had the flames under control within 15 minutes. The American Red Cross was called in to help the two men who live in the home arrange for interim lodging.
