A man was struck and injured by a Blue Line Trolley Thursday evening in what San Diego Police are investigating as an attempted suicide.

Witnesses told police the man appeared to run from a bench at the Iris Avenue station and jump into the path of the trolley. He was taken to a hospital with major head injuries.

Trolley service was delayed for 45 minutes and buses were dispatched to transport passengers.
