A suspected drunk driver lost control of his car in Miramar Sunday morning, crashed into a traffic signal pole, suffered a broken leg and other injuries, San Diego police said.

The 43-year-old man was driving a Honda sedan at about 8:15 a.m. in the 6900 block of Miramar Road when he lost control of the car, according to Officer Dino Delimitros.

“He lost control of his vehicle and hit a traffic signal post on the southeast corner of the intersection of Miramar Road and Production Avenue,” Delimitros said. “The driver suffered a fractured leg and internal injuries.”

The injuries were not considered to be life threatening. No other cars were involved.
