A 61-year-old woman was struck and injured in a hit-and-run collision in the Midtown neighborhood of San Diego on Saturday evening, confirmed San Diego police.

It happened at the 3700 block of India Street at around 8:42 p.m., according to the SDPD Watch Commander’s Log. The woman was walking across the street, when she was struck by an SUV heading southbound.

The driver stopped in the middle of the street, got out and left the scene. He walked to the south on India St. abandoning his SUV, said police.

Police described his vehicle as a gold Infinity QX4 SUV, and the suspect was a white man who weighed about 170 pounds and was five-feet, nine-inches tall. He was wearing a black shirt, black jacket, short hair and a goatee.

The victim was taken to the hospital with a broken pelvis, said police. Her injuries were considered non-life threatening.

An investigation is underway from the San Diego Police Traffic Division.
