A brush fire that broke out Thursday in the Escondido area burned nearly two acres before being stopped, according to reports.

Firefighters were dispatched around 5:30 p.m. to a small hillside brush fire off La Honda Drive, near Dixon Lake in the Daley Ranch Park area of Escondido, according to Cal Fire.

Ground and airborne firefighters halted the spread of the hillside blaze before 7 p.m.

The fire posed no structural threats, officials reported.

There is no word on what caused the blaze, which remains under investigation.
