A mental competency evaluation was ordered Monday for a woman accused of setting fire to four coffee kiosks after hours on the UCSD campus in La Jolla.
Kay Lyn Williamson, 30, is charged with multiple counts of arson. She faces 10 years in prison if convicted.
A judge suspended criminal proceedings and ordered the defendant to be examined by a doctor. A competency hearing was set for July 7.
Each of the fires set in the midnight hour on April 17 caused about $5,000 in damage to the cart and another $2,000 to the contents, fire officials said.
