Firefighters worked on a two-alarm fire at a Logan Heights warehouse much of Saturday night.

San Diego Fire-Rescue dispatchers sent firefighters to Commercial Street between South 28th and South 29th Streets at about 5:20 p.m. Saturday, where they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the unoccupied warehouse and immediately called for a second alarm response, according to spokeswoman Monica Munoz.

The fire started in the alley behind the business and extended into the warehouse. A firefighter sustained a minor injury. Dozens of firefighters responded to fight the flames and smoke could be seen for miles.

No other structures were damaged and no other injuries were reported. There was no apparent effect reported on the San Diego trolley’s tracks, on Commercial Street.

The blaze caused an estimated $200,000 in damage.
