A 3.5-magnitude earthquake struck Tijuana late Friday night, shaking much of south San Diego County.

The U.S. Geological Survey reported the quake hit at 10:41 p.m. about 3 miles southeast of downtown Tijuana. Its depth was seven miles.

The quake was felt as throughout Chula Vista and as far north as Escondido and Ramona, according to the USGS.

“Nothing like an earthquake to wake you up, small but nearby,” wrote one San Diegan on Twitter.

No injuries or damage were immediately reported.
